1 . List and describe 2 areas of failure in your preparation for the exhibition
Using materials
I spent money for materials quite a lot because I got a wrong materials. I have to try it and see how it's going . I tried to use many kinds of paper because when I put it in pop up, it didn't work and I lost 2 pages.
2. Describe how you could realistically improve on this next time you exhibit
Research
There are the video about "overcome failure" that I already posted in my Week10 Origination blog. You can have a look on the video and another website is also about 10 tips to overcome failure. There are interesting.

Reading Quiz
Answer the following questions as succinctly as possible in your own words
1. Using the student exhibition as an example, describe an aspect of your work or
something you have worked on, where you have found a symbiotic relationship
that is both complexity and simplicity - All the pictures that I printed looked like simple pictures but it passed a lot of process like hand drawing, scanning, photoshop, printing, and cutting. That's a complexity for me. Moreover, my pop up book is a combination of complexity and simplicity. It looks just like a common and simple book but inside the book is a complexity by pop up and a layer of picture.
2. Provide a conceptual example of a situation that has arisen during this project
where you have had a return on failure?
- When I was doing the first page for pop up book, many times that pop up return to failure. It seemed like it was work but then I found a lot of problem with paper, printing and I lost that page and I had to make it again. But that failure told me what are the mistakes and it made me could avoid that problem in the next page. I learned a lot from mistake and failure and next page I took quite short time to make it.
3. Homework: Provide a short explanation and example of how FAILURE can be
turned around using the law LEARN. Describe how this relates to the TIME law.
- In the law LEARN I use BRAIN in my exhibition work. I start everything by basis like pop up design, story and pictures. I faced with a lot of problems and failures in making pop up but I can learn from it and avoided it to happen again. Avoiding the desperation by finding an inspiration from other works when i get stuck. All the failure that I have faced helped me save a lot of time the when I do the next page for my pop up.
Research
In this website presented "Top 10 tips to overcome failure". I read it and I think It interesting and very useful. These tips can use in real life and people can think about it when they face with failure. It presented the way that you can learn from it and avoid the desperation. Let's read if you feel that you are facing with the failure in your exhibition work.

Reflection
Discuss these questions in relation to a group creating a design in collaboration
01 – What is the difference between reflection and criticism? - Criticism is evaluation like after you finish your work and they think it good? or what do you think about it? by putting your opinion. Reflection is reflect thing by thinking process, reflect and evaluate it from real thing.
02 – Can you reflect while you are designing? - Yes.
03 – Do you set aside time for reflection? - Actually, no.
04 – Do you make notes on your reflections?
- If I do it on my work, I will make notes to see what going on my work but if I do reflection with general thing, I won't.
05 – When is the best time to reflect? - Whenever you want to look back to your work or anything and think about it.
06 – Do you compare your work to work by your heroes? - Yes, sometime i did it but they are not my hero. Sometime they are the ones that I see their work or some one who make a good work and I compare with their work.
07 – How do you benefit by comparison? - By comparison our work to other works, we can see the strength and weakness of our work. so we can improve our work later.
08 – What can be a disadvantage of comparison? - Sometime, if you always compare yourself or your work with other people, it will cause stress if you think their work are better than us and always find negative thing in your. That's would be one of disadvantages of comparison. I think everyone has different skill and ability so, it isn't wrong if you can do like other people.
Blog Exercise – Moving On / Encouraging solutions
In regard to creative collaboration:
Discuss these questions - write a paragraph on each and use examples
1 . Are you brave enough to move on and adopt new and unexpected ideas? - Yes, but most of the time people think my idea is too crazy!!
2. Describe how you have encouraged others with a solution to their design problems
- The thing that I always do when my friends face with the problem is giving a spirit. If other people have problem about design, I will give them a spirit first by saying something good about their work. Then we will look at the problem that they face and try to give them an idea to solve the problem.
Reflection is thing that I think everyone does. I always do it before sleep or when I'm waiting for something, for example sit on the bus. This video from youtube is a video about "reflection of motherhood" They asked moms that "If they could go back to before their first baby, what would they tell themselves. Everyone in video is mom and they all have different answer for the question when they reflect themselves. Let's watch what are their answer!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=taDqKWWPDAY http://www.foundshit.com/tag/reflection/ http://www.pickyourart.com/sunset-reflection/
