Reflection
Discuss these questions in relation to a group creating a design in collaboration

01 – What is the difference between reflection and criticism?

- Criticism is evaluation like after you finish your work and they think it good? or what do you think about it? by putting your opinion. Reflection is reflect thing by thinking process, reflect and evaluate it from real thing.

02 – Can you reflect while you are designing?

- Yes.

03 – Do you set aside time for reflection?

- Actually, no.

04 – Do you make notes on your reflections?

- If I do it on my work, I will make notes to see what going on my work but if I do reflection with general thing, I won't.

05 – When is the best time to reflect?

- Whenever you want to look back to your work or anything and think about it.

06 – Do you compare your work to work by your heroes?

- Yes, sometime i did it but they are not my hero. Sometime they are the ones that I see their work or some one who make a good work and I compare with their work.

07 – How do you benefit by comparison?

- By comparison our work to other works, we can see the strength and weakness of our work. so we can improve our work later.

08 – What can be a disadvantage of comparison?

- Sometime, if you always compare yourself or your work with other people, it will cause stress if  you think their work are better than us and always find negative thing in your.  That's would be one of disadvantages of comparison. I think everyone has different skill and ability so, it isn't wrong if you can do like other people.

Blog Exercise – Moving On / Encouraging solutions

In regard to creative collaboration:
Discuss these questions - write a paragraph on each and use examples

1 . Are you brave enough to move on and adopt new and unexpected ideas?

- Yes, but most of the time people think my idea is too crazy!!

2. Describe how you have encouraged others with a solution to their design problems
- The thing that I always do when my friends face with the problem is giving a spirit. If other people have problem about design, I will give them a spirit first by saying something good about their work. Then we will look at the problem that they face and try to give them an idea to solve the problem.

Reflection is thing that I think everyone does. I always do it before sleep or when I'm waiting for something, for example sit on the bus. This video from youtube is a video about "reflection of motherhood" They asked moms that "If they could go back to before their first baby, what would they tell themselves. Everyone in video is mom and they all have different answer for the question when they reflect themselves. Let's watch what are their answer!!

Week9 Origination

Reading Quiz

Answer the following questions as succinctly as possible in your own words

1. Provide an example of a situation where you have to have trust – in the same vein as the author in his swimming lesson example. What made you trust in this situation and how did you feel?

-  When I was in secondary school in Thailand. I had done a big project work before graduated. It was the biggest work I have done. I worked with many students in group but almost everything I had to organise it. In the exhibition day, When we had to present work, I couldn't present my work because a teacher asked me to help for school work and I had to go. In that situation, I had to trust all of my group members that they could present it. At that time, I was very worried because I know most of them quite shy, not good at presenting and this work can make all of us fall if the presentation is not good but I thought they will try their best for this work and actually, they did it well even they said they very worried without me. That's make me know that I have to trust them and be confident with their ability.

2. Where in our exhibition do we need to instill trust? Give examples. How are we going to achieve this?

- I know the exhibition work is a big work for every students. When we work in group, we have to trust member group in their ability.

3. What strategies are used to instill trust? Examples? Where do we need to employ this in this year’s exhibition? How are we going to do this?

-  Show your ability to make people trust by putting it in your work.

4. If you could “undo” any aspect of the preparation for the exhibition to-date, what would you “undo”? With this in mind, what would would you change now in your preparation strategy to overcome having to “undo” anything?

- If I could change, actually I would change to do new thing. Before, plan to do this work with another students but she has to go back to her country and I have to do it myself. Another guy comes to help me but actually that's not enough help for me. I just find it harder to it without her but I still happy with it and I really like this work.

5. Homework: How are you using the laws in relation to your contribution to the student exhibition? Provide a short explanation and example for each of the laws so far.
